Star is a producer's dream. She's had a foal for us every year since we purchased her in 2004. She's pictured with her 2010 filly, Strawberry Shortcake, sired by our black pinto stallion. Star is in foal to Rebel for a 2012 foal.

Stella is a tiny, correct little mare that is sired by Little Kings Buck Echo, which makes her a Buckeroo granddaughter. She is parentage-qualified. Stella had a darling colt in 2010 and was left open for 2011. She's being bred to Tiny for 2012, which should produce another beautiful little baby!

When I purchase broodmares for our farm, of course health and conformation are paramount, but beyond that the next things I look for are temperament and size. Many of our foals are sold to families who want them for companions for themselves or their children and grandchildren, so I want my horses to be very people-friendly.
I also prefer mares that are small. To me part of the charm of the miniature is the very petite size. None of our mares is taller than 32”, with the exception of “Frosty” who is 34” and can be ridden by small children. More about that later!
I don’t place as much emphasis on pedigrees in our mares because our stallions can contribute the desirable bloodlines to our foals. Even so, some of our mares do carry the most recognizable names in the business.
